Kola nut
Cola acuminata, cola natida and twapea seed(bitter cola)
It is an evergreen, about 11m(about 35ft) higher and bears its seeds in podlike receptacles. The seeds called cola nut are about 2.5cm (about 1in) long,. And like that of nutmeg. The taste of the fresh seeds is bitter but as the nut ages then becomes slightly aromatic.
The seed contain caffeine, tamin and are used extensively in thye manufacture of soft drink known as cola beverage.
Classification: The cola tree belongs to the family sterculiaceace. The typical cola tree originate from west Africa.
