CNSL, as an organic phenol, contains cardanol and trace amounts of cardol. Cardanol is an unsaturated alkenylphenol with a characteristically long side chain in the meta position. This chemical structure gives cardanol its excellent heat resistant, friction and adhesive properties. The CNSL is also be used for manufacture of paint and varnishes, epoxy resins, and synthetic rubber. More than 10,000 products application through specific process use CNSL as the main material. The application of CNSL mostly for making rawmats for automobile, clutch facing and brake lining such as phenollic resin and friction dust.
