Phlogopite plates are plate-type insulating materials. First, high-quality raw phlogopite mica ores are made into thin mica papers; then, mica papers are pressed together with adhesives by high pressure and in high-temperature condition. It has excellent properties of heat resistance, flame resistance and electrical insulation. Phlogopite plates are widely used as frames in hair dryers, toasters, air warmers, ovens, rice cookers, microwave ovens, plastic heating elements and other electrical products and electric heating equipment.

Phlogopite plates’ operating temperature for long-time use is 800 oC and the most commonly used mica plate thickness is from 0.1 to 2.0 mm; they are usually divided into hard and flexible mica plates and the major difference between them is that hard mica plates can not be bent and but flexible plates can.

Phlogopite plate can stand even more high temperature than muscovite plates.
