Telecommunication Cable Company a subsidiary of PTT, was set up in Iran in 1985 with the goal to attain industrial self sufficiency to meet the growing needs of the telecommunication network of the country. The construction of the plant was started in April 1988 however, phase one, Optical Fiber Cable mass production was implemented in February of the subsequent year and phase two, Copper Cable mass production was put into operation in 1990. Phase three, which is indeed the expansion of phase two is now in operation which makes the total annual capacity of the plant 8000 MCM copper cables and 8000 Km optical fiber cables. All the production units of the plant apply the most modern technology and are equipped with advance machineries which are being operated by Iranian experts.
